John,

SVC and ASBC invite you to join us ([link removed]) Tuesday, April 13 at 2pm ET Turning Up The Heat: An Economic and Business Discussion Calling for Urgent Climate Action by U.S. Financial Regulators with Steven Rothstein (Ceres ([link removed]) ), Veena Ramani (Ceres ([link removed]) ), and Carolyn Pincus (American Sustainable Business Council ([link removed]) ).

A conversation about a new report Ceres is publishing on the continued imperative for US financial regulators to more quickly address climate risks in our financial system. There will be discussion about the need for bolder and more immediate action is necessary in order to protect U.S. financial markets and the U.S. economy from the systemic risks posed by the climate crisis. One key area will be the drive for mandatory standardized climate disclosure, specifically targeting the SEC to take action. Though this push is focused on mandates for large and mid-size companies, Ceres, ASBC and SVC want to dedicate part of the conversation to how this mandatory standardized disclosure and standardized reporting methods will filter through to investor communities, consumers and small to mid-size businesses. There will be discussion on specific ways you can become involved in this work.

* Steven Rothstein ([link removed]) - Founding Managing Director of the Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets. Ceres Accelerator aims to transform the practices and policies that govern capital markets in order to accelerate reduction of the worst financial impacts of the climate crisis and other sustainability threats. Veena is the author of the 2020 Ceres report, Addressing Climate as a Systemic Risk: A call to action for US Financial Regulators ([link removed]) , which makes the case that climate change poses systemic risk to US financial markets, and outlines over 50 action steps that financial market regulators can take to address this risk.
