TakeAction member Raye Perez (they/them) provided powerful testimony to the legislature for the Earned Sick and Safe Time bill (HF 7), which recently passed the Minnesota House! Read their powerful story on our blog. “While I want to be a teacher, I don’t believe I should ‘find a better job’ to earn the ability to take care of myself and loved ones when I’m sick,” Raye writes. “I’m a human now and I’ll be a human then, I deserve to be able to take care of myself.”

Judy Gibson (she/her) joined several fellow TakeAction members in a meeting with Congressman Dean Phillips, and wrote about her experience. “Elected officials need to know we are watching,” she says. “I know they are human like the rest of us.” Judy has been advocating with TakeAction to expand affordable healthcare access via MinnesotaCare for a decade now.
