Hey,

When I enlisted in the Army, became an Army Ranger, and served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I never thought that I would one day represent Coloradans in the halls of Congress. I just knew I wanted to serve and protect my country.

It wasn't until attending the 2017 Women's March did my wife Deserai and I make the decision to run for Congress -- when we saw the growing struggle for fundamental rights. Feeling the energy of fellow Coloradans, who were also fed up with the direction our country was headed in, led us to a clear and difficult conclusion: our democracy won't protect itself, and it's time to be the change.

Together, we defeated a five-term incumbent, advanced environmental protections, worked to create more opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs, took every step possible to defend our democracy, stood up for the human rights of all people, and won re-election to keep this work going. None of this would have been possible if this community hadn't embraced new leadership the first time around.

This week was our first big test of the year to show that the power remains with the people. And thanks to you, this campaign was able to hit our critical end-of-quarter goal. When the report comes out showing the groundswell of supporters not only across Colorado, but also our country -- the national Republicans looking to ramp up their efforts to take back the House majority will know our numbers reflect how strong we truly are.

Friend, I couldn't have asked for a better team of supporters, and I couldn't have made it this far without you. For that, I'm forever grateful -- and I'm looking forward to what's ahead with this grassroots team.
