This Week: At A Glance

Women's History Month came to a close this week. Winning For Women celebrated all month long by spotlighting some exceptional women leaders. Trailblazers by nature, here are just a few leaders we featured.

This week, W4W endorsed candidate Julia Letlow (LA-05) had a recent interview with Politico's Olivia Beavers. 

“I can't think of any better example to set for my children. Then, when life knocks you down because it's going to, you know, all of us are going to face trials and tribulations and loss at some point if we live long enough, and you can either choose to give up or you can choose to keep going. And I want them to see that their mom chose hope.”

A mid-week win! For the last several weeks, Senator Chuck Grassley, Senator Joni Ernst, Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-01) and Winning For Women pushed back against Speaker Nancy Pelosi's blatant power grab in Iowa! 

On Wednesday, Democrat Rita Hart released a statement withdrawing her effort to unseat Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02). Read the full statement here. 

A True Iowan. Senator Joni Ernst is back on the road this week on her 99 County Tour! Hearing directly from her constituents, Senator Ernst made a splash this week visiting Hamilton, Hardin, and Grundy County! Learn more about her stops here. 

Bipartisan Policy Group features Rep. Young Kim (CA-39), who participated in a discussion about finding real solutions with commonsense policy.  Check out the full event here.

Axios: Coronavirus Variant Tracker. New variants of SARS-CoV-2 are rapidly spreading through the U.S. These coronavirus variants are being studied because they may be more transmissible, cause more severe disease, or reduce the efficacy of current vaccines.

Wall Street Journal: Border Crossings by Migrant Children to Rise Sharply, U.S. Estimates Show. The Biden administration anticipates that the number of unaccompanied immigrant children crossing the U.S. southern border illegally will rise substantially for at least the next two months, according to internal projections.

Fox News: McCarthy releases fundraising distribution numbers in effort for GOP to win back House. McCarthy's "Take Back The House" fundraising entity gave more than $5.5 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), $4 million to individual GOP members and nearly $2 million to state parties in the first quarter of 2021, Fox News has learned.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks, just as Republicans turned up their public relations campaign against the potential election "steal."

The Hill: GOP visits border, criticizes Biden policies. Top House Republicans on Monday called on President Biden to visit the U.S.-Mexico border amid what both parties are calling a “humanitarian crisis” caused by the surge of migrants and unaccompanied children attempting to enter the country.
