Stacey Abrams and her coalition of volunteers, organizers, community leaders, and voters single-handedly saved American democracy in 2020 and 2021 when they swung Georgia to Joe Biden, Raphael Warnock, and Jon Ossoff.
She and her team proved that Democrats not only need to stop ignoring traditionally “red” states like those in the Deep South but also that Democrats CAN WIN THEM.
But Republicans learned that lesson too because they immediately set out writing restrictive voter suppression laws that curtailed early voting, ballot drop boxes, and absentee ballots. These laws are so restrictive that Stacey Abrams called them and others like them around the country “Jim Crow in a suit and tie.”
So what do we do now? We throw our full weight into the next round of elections in states like Georgia where we can wrestle power out of the hands of the GOP and prevent them from completely decimating our democracy.
This starts with the Georgia governor's race -- Stacey Abrams is rumored to be launching her campaign soon, and we need to have her back immediately or the GOP will sabotage her run by purging voter rolls just like they did in 2018.
That's why we're launching our Georgia Governor Fund, a fund we're devoting to countering the GOP's anti-democracy push in this critical swing state so that we can retake the governor's mansion and ensure all Georgians have their right to vote infringed going forward.
