Team: House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy just hired Donald Trump's former political director to lead the GOP's operation to take back the House in 2022, according to The Hill.
McCarthy's been boasting about how he's planning to take Speaker Pelosi's seat. Just last month, he promised a crowd of Trump supporters, “We're going to get the majority back. We're five seats away. I would bet my house on it.”
We know exactly what to expect from McCarthy if he succeeds. McCarthy led House efforts to overturn the election results for Trump, proudly voted against Biden's American Rescue Plan, and even wasted time uploading a video reading Dr. Seuss while Senate Democrats attempted to pass the lifesaving relief package.
Rather than help the House take action on the climate crisis and raising the minimum wage, McCarthy has spent his time parading around the border, scapegoating immigrants, and falsely claiming that Biden is letting “terrorists” into the country. It's abundantly clear that the American people are not McCarthy's priority.
