John,

On March 11th, we let y’all know that there’s a voter registration deadline coming up in Texas on April 1st (that’s in three days)!

And with our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline approaching, we’re doing what we can to reach Texans in key places to make sure that they’re registered to vote before the upcoming elections. By the way, if you’re thinking it’s too late to give, it’s not! You can make a tangible difference right now.

We know what you’re thinking: It’s not even April 2021. The midterms aren’t for another year and a half. But we promise that the work we do now will set the stage for November 2022.

This voter registration deadline in Texas is important because cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio have local elections approaching, not to mention the special election in Texas’s 6th Congressional District. Critically, the data shows that once people register to vote (even in local elections), they keep showing up to the polls -- time and time again.

So registering folks today will help us get an early start for the 2022 midterms (in which the Latinx vote will be essential to protecting our House and Senate majorities). It’ll also pay off down the road in 2024, when Ted Cruz (🤢) is up for reelection.

You in?
