[link removed] [[link removed]]Dear ,
Women from every background deserve dignity, respect and solidarity, yet immigrant women are excluded from federal funding; sex workers are vulnerable due to antiquated crime laws; Black women are 12x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women in New York; and essential workers have shown up to work in the midst of a pandemic, putting their lives and their families' lives in danger, to keep this city going.
In light of all of that, we hope you'll join us for a roundtable discussion [[link removed]] to address how women in communities that have long been overlooked and marginalized have had to fight for respect. This conversation will center those advocating for women in these situations and explore how NYC and its communities must do better at providing a place that is deserving of these strong women.
[[link removed]]Our panel will be moderated by Carolina Kay Do, organizer with Asians4Abolition and co-producing artistic leader of The Sống Collective.
