The first public financial reporting deadline of 2021 – and probably the most important one of the 2022 cycle – is quickly approaching on March 31st. My finance team has set some big benchmarks that I just have to hit.

In April, our fundraising numbers will go public for the first time this year, and Republicans – led by Donald Trump – will tear through them to see if Democrats are holding on to our momentum or if the GOP has an opportunity to turn the tide and flip Congress red.

Here are a few of the things that have happened in just the past couple of weeks:

• Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, and many Americans have already received their stimulus checks!
• In response to the Democratic efforts to get the bill through the House, Marjorie Taylor Greene called me – an Italian-American and a Jew – Rep. Mussolini for suggesting that the House take action to stop her stalling tactics!
• The House passed my Equality Act and universal background checks legislation – both of which led to a fresh round of attacks from right-wing Republicans and special interests.

It has certainly been a wild ride – and we’re only a few months into the election cycle. It’s only going to ramp UP from here.
