Over the past year, we've seen a major step back for women in the workforce -- particularly for working mothers and caretakers. In fact, every single one of the 140,000 jobs lost in the U.S. in December belonged to a woman, specifically a woman of color. 

COVID-19 has only exacerbated long-standing inequalities like unequal pay in the workforce. That's why we need Congress to step up and protect equal pay for equal work by law.

Today, women on average earn $0.82 for every $1 a white man makes, but those numbers drop drastically when you look at earnings for Black, Latina, and Indigenous women.
