The first year of fatherhood is a tornado of sleepless nights, stressful situations, and lots and lots of diaper challenges. It’s a difficult, messy, and anxiety-inducing time. But it’s also one of the best, packed with many profound moments of joy. It's easy, however, to only see them clearest when looking back. That's why we asked a variety of parents what they wish they knew about their first year of parenting. Some spoke of always having more diapers and burp bibs; others spoke of financial security. Many mentioned cutting themselves a bit more slack because that only makes it worse. All are worth listening to to give yourself a little perspective.
