President Biden set an audacious goal: 100 million vaccine doses administered within the first 100 days of his presidency.
And on Friday, he announced we hit that goal, and beat it -- by 42 days.
“It was considered ambitious, some even suggested was somewhat audacious. Experts said that it was, the plan was, ‘definitely aggressive, and distribution would have to be seamless for us to be successful',” Biden said. But he overcame all the odds, and we're thrilled.
But here's the thing -- now that vaccines are more broadly available, conservative propagandists like Tucker Carlson have begun to spread lies about them -- even nonsensically (and dangerously) suggesting that vaccines may be a national security threat. And these lies are taking a terrible toll -- ⅓ of all self-identified Republicans have declared that they are unwilling to get vaccinated, calling into question whether we'll ever be able to achieve the “herd immunity” we need to escape this pandemic.
You know more than anyone, this pandemic has to end. We're tired of it. You're tired of it. But maybe, just maybe, if we all do our part, we can overcome the pandemic and its trusty sidekick: the bells and whistles of GOP propaganda. Tell us:
