"Everything is bigger in Texas" now applies to their voter suppression too -- Texas's voting rights crisis is arguably now even worse than Georgia's. Here's a rundown of just some of the voter suppression legislation the TX GOP is trying to pass right now:

+ Getting rid of all mass voting locations, and opting to close all other remaining voting places by 7 p.m.

+ Requiring excessive proof of disability to be able to vote-by-mail

+ Exercising massive voter roll purges to disqualify unknowing individuals from being registered to vote

+ Removing d eputy voter registrars, who assist with both registering voters and helping them vote


We are looking at a complete dismantling of our democracy -- the only people who will be able to vote in this new system are ones who are (spoiler alert) wealthy enough to take the time off of work or school to wait HOURS in the voting lines that the closure of mass voting sites will create.

Here's the thing -- with early grassroots organizing we know we can still win even with the GOP rigging the system. Georgia taught us that in 2020. But if we want to surpass every obstacle the GOP throws at us, we need to start NOW.

We have a plan and we have the network, but we desperately need more money to continue combating the Republicans' increasing assaults on our elections. If we don't raise $2,150 by the end of tomorrow, then we'll have to majorly scale back our efforts to save our democracy.

We want to be clear, nothing matters more in this moment right now than protecting the future of our democracy. Our House, Senate, and even our Presidency will in turn completely depend on our ability to curb the GOP's voter suppression overhaul and replace every anti-democracy Republican with a progressive champion.
