WEBCAST: On the Frontline of Indonesia’s Plastic Waste Crisis

The numbers on Indonesia’s plastic waste challenge are sobering—only 10 percent of Indonesia’s yearly 6.8 million tons of plastic waste is recycled and the country is responsible for 10 percent of global plastic leakage into the ocean, second only to China. To combat this flood of single-use plastic waste, the government and many grassroots groups and international organizations have targeted solving waste management problems in Indonesian cities.

This webinar features USAID’s Senior Urban and Plastic Waste Specialist Clare Romanik and three USAID partners—Moh. Nurdhandi (Bintari Foundation); Swietenia Puspa Lestari (Divers Clean Action) and April Crow (Circulate Capital) who will present their impactful work on the frontline of Indonesia’s plastic waste crisis.
