As you know, across the country voter suppression laws are being introduced in vulnerable swing states where Donald Trump and Republican Senate candidates lost, and in places where cracks in the GOP armor have begun to form. This is nothing new: from slavery, to Reconstruction, to Jim Crow, anytime the party of bigots and white supremacists feels like its power is threatened, it goes to extremes — both legal and illegal — to hold onto power.
Our most effective approach to stopping the latest wave of this desperate attempt by racists and bigots to stay in the majority doesn't start in Washington — it starts in your state legislature. All of these attacks on democracy begin at the state level, and our only chance to fight back is to flip as many state legislatures as possible in the coming years.
Georgia is ground zero for this effort. We've already shown we can lead the charge against Donald Trump, Doug Collins and Kelly Loeffler, who all ran races deeply embedded in racism and bigotry. Friend, if we can successfully flip seats in the Georgia General Assembly in 2022 and 2024, our movement will create a blue tide that spreads like wildfire, giving us the best opportunity to flip multiple state legislatures.
