Subject: Clean Energy Jobs Act for Illinois Forum Email 3
CEJA Forum
Hello fellow climate and environmental activists,
We are three weeks away from the Clean Energy Jobs Act forum!
350 Chicago is encouraging activists across the environmental movement to register here to attend the moderated forum via Zoom on Thursday, April 8th.
What Is CEJA?
The Clean Energy Jobs Act is crafted to simultaneously combat the climate crisis and expand the renewable energy sector in Illinois. CEJA will establish goals for 100% clean energy, provide equitable and inclusive economic opportunities to Illinoisans statewide, and deliver racial and environmental justice to communities affected by carbon-based pollution while retraining displaced workers in the fossil-fuel industry.
Panelists
The forum will feature three distinguished panelists: 59th District Representative Daniel Didech, co-lead sponsor of CEJA and vice chair of the Energy and Environment Committee; Jen Walling, executive director of the Illinois Environmental Council, which leads the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition; and Kari Lydersen, reporter for Midwest Energy News and lecturer at Northwestern University’s Medill Graduate School of Journalism. Together, these panelists will discuss the challenges of developing and passing the legislation through the Illinois State House and Senate.
A question and answer session will follow the discussion, along with actions for individuals and organizations to undertake to further educate, organize, and advocate for the passing of the Clean Energy Jobs Act.
