Team,
House Democrats just passed two major bills that strengthen gun laws, including expanding background checks. Now, it’s up to the Senate to get these bills on President Biden’s desk. Add your name NOW and demand that the Senate strengthen our gun laws >>>
Gun violence has been an epidemic in our country for too long, Team. Domestic violence, mass shootings, and hate crimes don’t happen in a vacuum. This week alone, eight more innocent people in Atlanta, Georgia were added to the long list of mass shooting statistics.
⚫ Sandy Hook Elementary School, December 14, 2012 — 26 dead, two wounded.
⚫ Charleston, South Carolina, June 17, 2015 — 9 dead.
⚫ Parkland, Florida, February 14, 2018 — 17 dead, 17 wounded.
⚫ Atlanta, Georgia, March 16, 2021 — 8 dead, one wounded
Thoughts and prayers mean nothing without action. We don’t have to live in a country where mass shootings are just another fact of life
The NRA and GOP are spewing propaganda to keep the gun lobbyists rich. Here’s the worst part — Sen. Mitch McConnell has repeatedly rejected Democrats’ efforts to pass commonsense gun legislation since the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012.
And he continues to stand in the way of making meaningful change.
Passing these bills should be common sense. We have a chance to expand background checks, close the “Charleston loophole” and the gun show loophole, and extend background check review periods. But Republicans say no.
