Friend,
I’m proud to say that last week’s passage of the American Rescue Plan moved the country in a decidedly bold and progressive direction.
In particular, I’m proud of what this new law does for kids and families. Between limited childcare, vast unemployment rates, food and housing access stretching thin, and many parents taking on the role of teacher and caretaker on top of their own work, it has been a deeply trying time for parents and children all across the country.
So, in a second, I’m going to share with you a few of my favorite highlights from this legislation. But first, if you agree that the American Rescue Plan is good news for kids and families, I hope you’ll join me by adding your name and sending a message that you support it. [[link removed]]

The American Rescue Plan provides critical support for kids and families. Here are a few really meaningful aspects:
An expansion of the Child Tax Credit: Families will receive $3,600 per child under age 6 and $3,000 per child between age 6-17. 23 million kids will benefit from this expansion.
One-time direct cash payment of $1,400 per person for people who earn under $75,000 (for single filers) or $150,000 (for joint filers), and $1,400 for each dependent.
$40 billion investment in childcare -- the most significant investment in childcare in close to a century. This will increase pay for childcare workers and reduce costs for families. And beyond that, a renewed focus on childcare will help get our parents back to work!
SNAP benefits expansion, including $880 million in funding for women and infants, as well as an extension of pandemic benefits through this summer and beyond.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg -- there’s so much more to this new law that helps kids and families. I couldn’t be prouder to support it.
So today, add your name to join me in supporting the bold, transformative work of the American Rescue Plan [[link removed]] , and let’s keep pushing forward to help kids and families as we emerge from this dark chapter to brighter days ahead.
Thank you,
Tim
