Friend --

Texas's Republican-led state government has failed us miserably.

Governor Greg Abbott's response to Winter Storm Uri was to blame everyone but himself while forcing working families to foot the electricity bills. Ted Cruz literally fled the country while Texans suffered.

Then, we watched in disbelief as they prematurely lifted the mask mandate to cover for their complete incompetence. Friend, we cannot allow these flippant and abject failures to go unchecked.

The good news is that in less than 50 days, Texans will head to the polls to elect new mayors, city council members, and municiplical officers.

Let me be clear: Nothing would rebuke Republican leadership in Texas more than flipping a ton of local seats to blue on May 1st.

Hosanna Yemiru is a Dallas City Council candidate fighting for working families and stronger infrastructure to handle storms. She'll stand up to Abbott and Cruz. Can you chip in a grassroots contribution of $3 to her campaign? That will go so far in a local race like this one.

These upcoming local elections are a continuation of what we started back in 2019. Texas is changing, and I know we're right on the cusp of reshaping this state -- and by extension our entire country -- for generations to come.

But that starts by doing the work, team. It starts with City Council races like Hosanna's in Dallas.

You may not believe, but if just 5% of the people reading this email chipped in $3 -- Hosanna could outraise all her conservative opponents and be well on her way to City Hall. That's the type of power we all have, and it's why this is important:

Let’s send a stunning rebuke to Greg Abbott and the rest of the GOP by flipping local City Council seats in Texas like Hosanna’s. Chip in today >>

All my best,

Candace
