Two years ago, most Senate Democrats wanted nothing to do with changing the filibuster.

Now, we’re just a few votes short of eliminating it entirely, and even fewer votes short of reforming it. And just this week, President Biden endorsed bringing back the “talking filibuster,” which would make it far more painful for a senator to try and block legislation.

We must get rid of this antiquated, Jim Crow-era relic that’s preventing us from making progress on so many issues. Will you stand with me in calling for an end to the filibuster? Make a contribution to support our efforts to fight for key legislation like climate change or immigration. [[link removed]]

Right now, the mere threat of filibuster is enough to prevent passing legislation with a simple majority vote. If the filibuster stands, we can’t make progress on issues like climate change, democracy reform, a $15 minimum wage, and so much more.

We must keep working to eliminate the filibuster altogether, deliver on our promises to the American people, and take the veto power away from Mitch McConnell.

We will keep fighting to elect progressive leaders across the country who won’t put silly senate procedures ahead of our promises to the American people. So I need to ask:

Can you make a donation today to help us sustain this work and deliver on our campaign promises for the American people? Grassroots donations are the backbone of this movement, so your support is critical to our success. [[link removed]]

Thank you,

- Julián
