"A member of the far-right nationalist Proud Boys was in communication with a person associated with the White House in the days just before the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol," the Washington Post reports.

Federal prosecutors are revealing that what we initially thought was a protest that went out of control was actually much more sinister -- the Capitol insurrection was carefully planned by Proud Boys leaders who organized tactical groups to break into the building from several entrances.

Now, law enforcement officials have revealed that a Proud Boys leader was in contact with Donald Trump's team just days before the insurrection.

We also know that Proud Boys members in the crowd on Jan. 6 specifically targeted a Capitol entrance that had the fewest police officers to guard it so they could do maximum damage. These men were outfitted with special radio communication gear and tactical armor -- they knew exactly what they were doing.
