Subject: [sign on] Pass the Justice in Policing Act now!

Team –
It’s been nearly a year since George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police and Americans took to the streets to call for meaningful action on police brutality and systemic racism.
In the wake of last summer’s protests, Democrats in Congress introduced the Justice in Policing Act to fundamentally reimagine the role of law enforcement in communities.
The Justice in Policing Act will ban chokeholds like the one that killed George Floyd and no-knock warrants like the one that killed Breonna Taylor, establish a national police misconduct registry, require officers to shoot only as a last resort, make it easier to hold police accountable, demilitarize local police departments, and invest in community-based programs to truly make us safer.
The House just passed this bill, and now it’s on the Senate to take a vote on this important legislation. Sign the petition to tell the Senate to pass the Justice in Policing Act now!
While this bill will not fix everything, it is a good step toward ensuring that more Black Americans do not die at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve. Without it, our country remains in the same status quo that allowed George Floyd to die at the hands of the police.
The American people have made it clear that we NEED policing reform. America needs real change. It’s time to stand up against racism and pass police reform. Join me in calling on the Senate to pass the Justice in Policing Act!
Thank you for speaking up. Black lives matter.
– David
