"Ultimately it is a failure when we compromise ourselves out of delivering on behalf of the American people and keeping our promises," remarked Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on the Democrats' failure to deliver on the $2,000 they initially promised.

We're eternally grateful that the American Rescue Plan passed, but Ilhan Omar brings up a great point -- the American people not only were promised more relief by us, but they desperately NEED more.

Well over half of Americans have been living paycheck to paycheck since Covid hit over a year ago, and with Democrats' failure to increase minimum wage in the ARP, millions of Americans have a long way to go before they are no longer facing financial insecurity. Democrats finally have a majority in both the House and the Senate, so we know there we have the opportunity to do better than this.
