As our country is being devastated by a once-in-a-life-time pandemic, unprecedented natural disasters and a weakened economy, Republicans in Congress are lobbying for an increase in funding for …. defense contracts?
Despite our military spending ranking higher than the next 11 nations combined -- House Republicans are demanding a 3% - 5% increase in our nation's military budget, just weeks after they criticized Democrats' $1.9 trillion stimulus bill for being too expensive.
We tend to think that it's a good thing when representatives prioritize their constituent's survival before the passage of big defense contracts, and it seems our progressive champions in the House agree -- Democrats are arguing that the billions to be spent on nuclear weapons should be reinvested into helping everyday Americans instead.
As the House begins to consider the fiscal 2022 budget, we want to hear what our most tuned in supporters have to say on our government's spending.
