[[link removed]]Harvey was one of the few elected officials brave enough to endorse Cynthia Nixon over Governor Cuomo during the 2018 election, and has continued to stand firmly by his principles in speaking out about he need to impeach the governor in the wake of his disastrous handling of nursing homes during the pandemic, his subsequent cover-up and the multiple allegations of sexual harassment that have surfaced.
As the representative of New York’s 74th Assembly District, Harvey is an unrelenting advocate for Manhattan’s East Side and someone who stands at the forefront of the progressive movement in New York . He’s a true community organizer who doesn’t shy away from the most pressing issues faced by people in his district and across the entire City, and we’re honored to have him in this fight with us.
Harvey and Dianne announced the endorsement today at Tompkins Square Park in East Village, alongside a slate of District Leaders representing the Lower East Side who all also endorsed Dianne for mayor — including John Blasco , Assembly District 74, Part A; Jonathan Gardenhire , Assembly District 65, Part B; Paul Newell , Assembly District 65; and Aura Olavarria , Assembly District 74, Part A.
