Friend,
Last week, GOP Senators stood in lockstep opposition to raising the federal minimum wage, despite many of us pressing to get it done.
But let’s be clear: This fight is not over -- and we’re going to continue to push to raise the minimum wage.
My philosophy on this topic is simple. A full-time worker earning the minimum wage should be able to survive and support a family. But right now, an adult earning the minimum wage is dramatically below the poverty line.
If we’re going to tell our kids that hard work is the key to success, we need to reward it.
That’s why I support the movement to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2025.
The events of last week make it clear that we need a strong Democratic majority if we’re going to move forward on the progressive priorities we care about -- like raising the minimum wage.
If you agree, add your name today to my petition to keep fighting to raise the minimum wage. When you add your name, I’ll know you’re with me on this issue.
For more than a decade -- since 2009! -- our federal minimum wage has remained stagnant. We’re asking our workers to work harder and for longer hours, but we aren’t compensating them fairly for their work. It’s time for that to change.
Sign your name today if you agree that we need to keep pushing for a livable wage for all workers.
Let’s keep fighting,
Tim
