John,

Did you hear? There’s a voter registration deadline coming up in Texas on April 1st. This is a major opportunity, but the deadline is less than a month away. You may be thinking, Texas? It’s 2021. The midterms aren’t for another year and a half. But we promise that the work we do now is going to set the stage for November 2022.

Here’s why:

  • This voter registration deadline in Texas is important because cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, and San Antonio have local elections approaching, not to mention the special election in Texas’s 6th Congressional District -- and the data shows that once people register to vote (even in local elections), they keep showing up to the polls.
  • So registering folks now will help us get an early start for the 2022 midterms (where the Latinx vote will be essential to protecting our House and Senate majorities).
  • Can you pitch in to help us register Texas voters before the April 1st deadline?
  • Also, the work we do in 2021 and 2022 will pay off down the road... like in 2024, when Ted Cruz is up for reelection. In the 2020 cycle, Voto Latino registered 263,581 Texans to vote. And Cancún Cruz? He won his last election by only 214,921 votes! See what we’re saying here?

There are a lot of young, unregistered Latinx voters across Texas, and in places like San Antonio and Dallas, we have our work cut out for us. And the sooner we start, the more of a chance we’ll have to turn Texas blue in 2022 and beyond.

You in? Donate now.
