Over the next few days, my team and I will be reaching out with some important requests. Will you give me a minute to explain why they are so important?

Our February fundraising deadline is coming up this Sunday at midnight. Our goal is to secure 15,000 donations by then, and it’s crucial that we don’t fall short.

We expect background checks to be reintroduced in the House as early as next week and we need to be ready the minute the bill is reintroduced. We also expect that it’ll quickly pass and move to the Senate where it’ll face tougher opposition.

This is where you come in.

The more people who chip in and speak up in favor of background checks, the better chance we have of getting it through the Senate and onto President Biden’s desk.

Right now, we’re still a little bit behind on our goal. But if we can pick up the pace before Sunday, I think we can get there. So, before this life saving legislation hits the House floor, I have to ask:

Our 15,000 donation goal isn’t a random number — it’s the amount of donations we have calculated we need to push for this gun safety legislation and prove that there is ample support for universal background checks.

And now, after universal background checks sat untouched on Mitch McConnell’s desk for two years — we finally have a real chance at passing this legislation in both the House and Senate.
