Dear John,

As I write this letter, many of your friends and neighbors have already received their COVID-19 vaccinations. They know that the vaccine is safe and effective. You might be wondering about how to get yours.

If you live in Providence, know that my goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible and to focus on the communities that have been hit the hardest. Just last week, the Department of Health approved my request to vaccinate hard hit zip codes in Providence first as it met the shared goal of vaccinating the City’s most vulnerable residents efficiently and expeditiously.

Providence residents ages 65 or older are encouraged to register for vaccination clinics through the City’s online portal VaccinatePVD.com. If you cannot register yourself, please call to connect to the Mayor’s Center for City Services by dialing 3-1-1 or (401) 421-2489 and a representative will fill out the registration form on your behalf in English or Spanish.

I am filled with hope and optimism for the future. Vaccines are safe, effective, and save lives. Let us work together to stay healthy.

Jorge
