1776 Commission ([link removed] )

Monday, March 1st | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CST

When President Joe Biden cancelled President Trump’s 1776 Commission, he signaled a major surrender in the ongoing culture wars. The 1776 Commission was a counter to the New York Times’ 1619 Project, a revisionist retelling of our nation’s story. By attempting to silence those of us who view the founding of the United States as a significant step toward freedom, opportunity and equality for all, the Biden administration is trying to shut down debate on the topic. The same revisionists, by the way, are coming after Texas next. Join us for a livestream event that will discuss the corruption of history by identity politics.

Student Transfers ([link removed] )

Thursday, March 4th | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CST

You're invited to join the Texas Public Policy Foundation, Reason Foundation, and Yes Every Kid for this important policy discussion.

Many Texas families aren’t aware they can request that their children attend public schools outside of their attendance zones. The last year has been disruptive in every facet of life, and nowhere more so than in education. Knowing their options can help many Texas families better manage in these troubled times. It’s not always easy, of course. A district can decide whether to accept an out-of-district student based on their test scores, for example. They can’t offer to come pick that student up at home without getting a waiver from the state. And, they may charge thousands of dollars in tuition. This process needs more transparency, and an easy transportation fix. Our experts will discuss the realities and the possibilities of crossing Texas school boundaries.

The first 150 people to register for the "livestream + book" ticket will receive a complimentary mailed copy of Tim DeRoche's book, A Fine Line: How Most American Kids Are Kept Out of the Best Public Schools.
