FEBRUARY 2021

Today the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative reveal the platform and initial creative for our COVID-19 vaccine education initiative: “It’s Up To You.” This effort involves an unprecedented coalition of major brands, media companies, influencers, community organizations, faith leaders, medical experts and other trusted messengers—it’s one of the largest communications efforts in American history. Read on to learn all about this momentous undertaking.

It's Up To You
It’s Up To You
According to our research, as of earlier this month, nearly 40% of Americans have not yet decided to get the vaccine when it’s available to them. We also know that Black and Hispanic communities have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic—and due to systemic inequities and a history of medical atrocities, these communities also have a greater distrust of the government and medical community.

With multiple campaigns under one umbrella, and with a special focus on reaching communities of color, “It’s Up To You” takes an empathetic approach that reaffirms it’s understandable to have questions—and that getting educated about the vaccines is a key step toward getting back to the moments and people we miss. Watch one of the new PSAs, and for more details about our partners and their efforts, read today’s press release. (And check out the coverage by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and AP.)
