It’s no secret that the USPS is in trouble, and it’s going to take more than just getting Trump out of office to fix it.

Right now, Joe Biden can not outright fire Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, the Trump crony responsible for some of the biggest delays and price hikes in USPS history. That’s up to the USPS Board of Governors, who oversees the hiring and firing the postmaster general.

If we are going to get rid of Louis DeJoy, Biden must appoint new board members who will protect the USPS, not dismantle it. Will you add your name today to show your support?

Rural communities are disproportionately impacted by cuts to the postal service. The USPS is a lifeline to small towns across the country, delivering essential supplies like food and prescriptions. It’s also the most cost-effective solution for rural Americans. The postal service is required to charge folks the same amount no matter where they are from and what state they are sending to.

For decades, Republicans have tried to dismantle the USPS and privatize—which would be disastrous for rural communities. Private companies do not have the same obligation to charge the same rate regardless of postal code. Since rural communities are often harder to access, prices will undoubtedly increase for residents.

It’s clear that it’s time for Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and his enablers on the USPS Board of Governors to go. Right now, NONE of the members of the board are from rural America. They don’t understand the needs of our communities.
