Public Citizen on Twitter: BREAKING: Virginia just voted to abolish the death penalty. When the governor signs the bill, Virginia will become the first Southern state to abolish capital punishment.

Virginia will become just the 23rd state to abolish the death penalty, and it’s still legal federally.

But change is happening!! Joe Biden is the FIRST person to campaign for president on abolishing the death penalty and win.

Capital punishment has been debated since the very founding of this country, and the discussion varies across each state...
