Last week, Jamaal shared with you the news of his mother's passing. Ms. Pauline's generosity and compassion extended beyond her family and friends into her community, and we want to honor her legacy and ensure that it continues on.
That's why we are honored to share with you the launch of the Pauline Bowman Fund. In partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon, all contributions to the fund will support the Club's Dinner and Summer Feeding Programs — both which provide a daily hot breakfast and lunch to members — and the Community Clothing and Food COVID Relief Program.
Jamaal created the Pauline Bowman Fund in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon, because he's seen firsthand how challenging the coronavirus pandemic has been for young kids in our community.
Our communities have been faced with increasing food insecurity and the suspension of much-needed youth resources, like after-school and summer programs. For many students facing food insecurity, school and extracurricular programs like these provide them the daily meals they need.
