Folks across Texas are still struggling to recover from the winter storm that brought historic freezing temperatures, snow, and ice to the state last week. Many homes are still without safe drinking water, and families are struggling to access food and other necessary supplies.

Temperatures are rising, but the crisis is far from over. Communities are just beginning to assess the damage wrought by the unprecedented winter weather, with vulnerable populations like the unhoused bearing the brunt of what will likely be a long-term crisis and recovery period.

If you are able, please consider a donation to help our neighbors in Texas recover from the storm:

• The Feeding Texas network of 21 food banks serves all 254 counties in Texas through over 3,000 local partners, feeding more than 4 million Texans annually. Find a food bank here.
   
• Local mutual aid groups are mobilizing to provide neighbors with food, bottled water, warm clothing and blankets, and more. • The American Red Cross is supporting multiple warming centers across the state, and you can donate to support their disaster relief efforts. Local hospitals are also in need of blood donations. You can sign up to give blood here if you are safe and in Texas.
   
• Local homeless organizations need support to help the unhoused stay safe. The Coalition for the Homeless in Houston and the Austin Area Urban League are seeking donations and support.
