Faith is a personal journey. It differs from individual to individual, family to family. But through religion, many parents find principles, purpose, faith, community, and a way to frame the world for their children. We recently asked a variety of dads — each of whom had different relationships to religion — how it shapes their parenting. One discussed his relationship with prayer and how he reaches out for assistance or guidance to various higher powers — God, his deceased father. "I do it almost exclusively to become a better parent and husband," he told us. "It’s never obvious, but I know I’ve become a better parent by listening to what my heart tells me when I ask for help.”
