We questioned Gov. Cuomo's actions in December. It looks like it's worse than we thought.

Friend,

In early December, my team emailed you about the tragic decisions of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Now, we're learning that the devastation of Gov. Cuomo's orders are even worse than we imagined. Even CNN reported ([link removed]) the details of how the Cuomo administration tried to cover up nursing home deaths from the Department of Justice and their own state legislature.

Gov. Cuomo needs to answer for his deadly decision to send COVID-19-positive patients into nursing homes. Last week I voted in a committee markup to demand accountability and transparency for all governors in their COVID-19 reporting. The measure failed on a party-line vote, but my colleagues and I will continue to seek answers from Gov. Cuomo and others who copied this misguided policy.

Sincerely,

Rep. Ron Estes

Team,

William Shakespeare told us that "all the world's a stage."

While people were dying in New York nursing homes because of a failed coronavirus policy, Gov. Andrew Cuomo was playing to an audience on television daily. Lives were unnecessarily lost because of his mandate to nursing homes – forcing them to readmit COVID-19-positive patients from the hospital.

But the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has apparently decided that television theatrics are more important than sound policies, awarding Gov. Cuomo the 2020 International Emmy Founders Award. Yes, Gov. Cuomo received an Emmy.

We know that the coronavirus pandemic has had deadly consequences for many across the country, but egregious policies like the one imposed by Gov. Cuomo only worsened the situation.

He furthered his political theater when he said the announcement about Pfizer's vaccine effectiveness was "bad timing" because President Trump is in the White House. He cast doubt on a safe and effective vaccine to score political points, and it certainly made for TV drama.

So while the families of those who died in nursing homes are still grieving and others are questioning a safe vaccine that could save more lives, the Emmys have honored Gov. Cuomo for his work on television.
