The recent cold
weather in Nebraska and in many parts of our country has affected
everyone. In our largest cities of Lincoln and Omaha, and in towns
across Nebraska, families suffered through rolling blackouts during the
deep freeze.

The fact that many residents were left without power,
even as temperatures hit record lows, put a spotlight on our state’s
energy issues.

The Democrats have pushed for unreliable wind and
solar power. The Lincoln Mayor’s current energy plan bans all natural
gas — including stoves. Their short-sighted proposals are unreliable
when it matters, and Nebraskans are the ones who must suffer because of
it.

We need to get Republicans back in charge, and make sure that we
have a pragmatic energy strategy going forward that won’t leave
thousands of Nebraskans out in the cold.

If you support commonsense
energy solutions in Nebraska, please make a grassroots donation now.

My thoughts are
with the hardworking Ag producers in our state, who are trying to
provide for their families and take care of their animals during this
record-breaking cold streak.
