As Trump's impeachment trial began, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made yet another wild assertion: that the violent mob storming the Capitol couldn't have been Trump supporters.

"If the #Jan6 organizers were Trump supporters, then why did they attack us while we were objecting to electoral college votes for Joe Biden?" she tweeted on Tuesday morning. "The attack RUINED our objection that we spent weeks preparing for, which devastated our efforts on behalf of Trump and his voters."

Sure, MTG: the armed white supremacist rioters who stormed the Capitol carrying MAGA flags and chanting "Stop the steal!" had nothing to do with Trump.

Greene's words might seem ridiculous, but they're also dangerous; people read them and believe them. That's why it's important for us to push back on these falsehoods right now. Please, tell us:
