Answer: NY Republicans have been calling for a DOJ investigation and now a slow chorus of Democrats are also joining in on the call. Following the Cuomo Administration's bombshell admission it hid nursing home data, our entire Republican congressional delegation sent a new request to DOJ to investigate Cuomo and his senior staff who were complicit in the nursing home directive and subsequent coverup. We need a real, independent entity outside of our corrupt & complicit Democrat-run state government to investigate this conspiracy. Cuomo must be prosecuted and removed from office.

That was the message from NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy following the stunning admission from Cuomo's administration that they conspired to cover up the truth about their deadly order that killed more than 15,000 nursing home seniors.

People died and Andrew Cuomo lied. He is unfit to serve & the only way to restore integrity to the office of the governor is through his removal from office.

New York State Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy thundered, “The second most powerful person in state government and top aide to Governor Cuomo admitted on video to the premeditated and willful violation of state laws and what clearly amounts to federal obstruction of justice. Andrew Cuomo has abused his power and destroyed the trust placed in the office of governor. Prosecution and impeachment discussions must begin right away.”
“Once again, the state’s ethics commission is embroiled in its own ethics scandal,” Langworthy said. “It stinks to high heaven that at a time when they were reported to finally be investigating the company tied to Cuomo’s federal corruption trial, the chairman resigns in secrecy and is replaced by Cuomo’s former staffer. This is the perfect example of how Cuomo has been able to build his empire of corruption. JCOPE is a sham organization that needs to be shut down and replaced with a real, independent ethics committee, free of the governor’s influence.”

The chair of New York's Republican party is calling for the prosecution and impeachment of Governor Andrew Cuomo. The demand comes after a story in the New York Post, showing a recording of a private meeting between Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa and several Democrats in the New York State Legislature. In the recording, DeRosa purportedly told Democratic leaders "we froze" when it came to providing them additional requested nursing home data over concerns brought about by comments from then-President Donald Trump.

NEW YORK (AP) — More than 9,000 recovering coronavirus patients in New York state were released from hospitals into nursing homes early in the pandemic under a controversial directive that was scrapped amid criticism it accelerated outbreaks, according to new records obtained by The Associated Press. The new number of 9,056 recovering patients sent to hundreds of nursing homes is more than 40% higher than what the state health department previously released. And it raises new questions as to whether a March 25 directive from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration helped spread sickness and death among residents, a charge the state disputes.
