Happy Saturday. ☕️ |
Welcome to another weekend edition of FT Now! First, with some promising news: A pilot program in Arizona has shown success in combatting the veteran suicide rate - an often overlooked problem in today’s rapid-fire political news cycles. In Louisiana, parents are rightly concerned that public schools are handing out sexually explicit "health" surveys to middle school students. Last but not least, House Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is taking heat for literally making up portions President Trump’s call with the president of Ukraine during a hearing on Capitol Hill. Maybe he thought it would be funny? Who knows...

Louisiana Parents Outraged Over Middle School Sex Survey Given To Students |
What Happened: |
Middle school students were given a government-approved survey that asked some pretty graphic questions - many of which, parents say crossed the line. |
Why You Should Care: |
The survey is tied to government funding for school-based health centers. But at least one mother says her son was given the survey without her consent - not good. |
What Happens Next: |
"The state government of Louisiana - which is currently run by Democrat Gov. John Bel Edwards - should probably let parents decide when and how to "survey" their middle school-aged children about sex. Just a thought. |

Rep. Adam Schiff Fabricates What Trump Said In Ukraine Telephone Call Script |
What Happened: |
In a highly-publicized hearing on Capitol Hill around the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff chose to literally make up portions of President Trump’s call with the president of Ukraine. |
Why You Should Care: |
Schiff says he was simply conveying the "essence" of the call. By making up a conversation that never happened? If senior House Democrats aren’t taking these proceedings seriously, why should the rest of America? |
What Happens Next: |
House Democrats continue full steam ahead… |
