National Republicans are threatened by Abigail’s independent voice in Congress. She has worked hard to build a broad coalition of support in this critical swing district, which is essential to maintaining the House majority in next year’s midterms.
The NRCC and similar groups have already spent millions of dollars running ads against Abigail. Now that they’ve named her a top target in 2022, the nasty, misleading attack ads will soon follow.
Virginia’s 7th district is incredibly competitive and Abigail won by a razor-thin margin in 2020 after flipping this seat in 2018. In order to win again, we need to ensure we have the resources necessary to defend against national Republican groups vying to buy this seat.
