Now that the Biden Administration has pledged to welcome refugees, we must do
all we can
Dear John,
In its first few weeks, the Biden administration has revitalized the U.S.
refugee resettlement program. This means that people who have fled persecution,
and want nothing more than a chance at a new life in a safe place, will again
have a chance to find it here.
Tell Congress that we expect them to do the same.

At HIAS, we are encouraged by the promises that have been made to rebuild the
resettlement program after the wreckage of the past four years. The Biden
administration has already raised the annual refugee admissions cap to 62,500
refugees this fiscal year, and hopes to welcome 125,000 refugees in fiscal year
2022.
This will require an enormous amount of work and effort by the administration,
Congress, refugee agencies like HIAS, and people like you who can help support
refugees as they rebuild their lives in your communities.
Join us in letting your member of Congress know you will do all you can to
welcome refugees — and that you ask them to do the same.
