Hey -- have you seen the latest from The Hill?
It seems “a union contract signed by the Trump administration on its last full day in office could enable Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to stall President Biden's vision for a reimagined immigration system,” by forcing Biden to get approval from ICE's union before enacting any policy changes.
This is alarming news.
Joe Biden has big plans to overhaul his predecessor's despicable, discriminatory immigration policies, but Republican loyalists have already conspired to keep a Trump agenda on deck. And as The Hill further reports, “even if the Biden administration pushes back on the contract, it signals the resistance the young administration may face from ICE's rank and file.”
We can't let that happen, especially after the work we've put in -- our country won't survive it. We need to ensure that every single one of Trump's racist, xenophobic immigration policies is repealed, and that Biden has a real chance to move our country forward, but we'll be honest -- our resources are running low.
Please, we can't think of a bigger Trump victory than having his immigration legacy -- his wall, his family separation, his children in cages -- cemented in our country. We'll need a grassroots push to keep this administration on the right track, and we can't create it without you.
