Hi friend,
Donald Trump has refused the Senate's invitation to testify at his impeachment trial.
But that doesn't mean he can't be forced to appear.
Once the House impeachment managers have made their case, Trump's lawyers have presented their defense, and senators have asked questions of both sides, the impeachment managers COULD request to subpoena the former president. The Senate would then have to vote on their request.
Opinion is split on if requiring Trump to testify is even necessary -- some say that Democrats have enough evidence as it stands and that Trump's silence speaks volumes already -- while others think that Trump's appearance is the final argument Democrats need to succeed.
We're reaching out to find out where our supporters stand on the matter. Tell us now:
Should Democrats subpoena Donald Trump?
