According to POLITICO, “The face of the Biden resistance is taking shape in the Senate: Josh Hawley.”
Hawley has been anti-Biden from the beginning -- he was the first senator to announce his objection to certifying Biden's electoral votes, and he's been the only Republican to vote against every single one of Biden's cabinet nominees since the president took office.
According to campaign strategists, there's only one way to explain this no-nuance, pure-resistance behavior: Hawley is plotting a run for president.
In a 2024 campaign, he would be able to say that he opposed everything Biden did, never standing down or cooperating -- which is just what Trump's base, looking for a new demagogue to lead them in their radical right-wing views, will want to hear.
