Greetings, Friend:

We have two important updates for you for the North Carolina Green Party.

NCGP 2021 Statewide Winter Gathering Feb. 13 on Zoom

Join us for the North Carolina Green Party's Statewide Winter Gathering on Saturday, February 13, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Zoom. Preregister at our website <[link removed]>. All NCGP members are encouraged to attend. Nonmember prospects who are interested in joining the NCGP are also welcome to attend as observers, though only members may participate and vote on party business. If you would like to participate in the meeting with full voting privileges, you must join the NCGP as a dues-paying member by Friday, February 12.

The NCGP is a membership-based, dues-paying organization and political party. To learn more about joining the NCGP, and the difference between a Green registered voter and an NCGP member, please see below.

Contact Gov. Cooper Today to Get the NCGP Back on the Ballot

We need your help: Can you contact Governor Cooper and ask for Executive Relief for the Green Party and other alternative parties due to the Covid-19 pandemic?

This is a time-sensitive request and cannot wait—please send your Covid-relief letter to Coopertoday <[link removed]>. We've provided a sample message to Cooper at that link for you to copy and paste.

The NC Greens and other alternative parties got booted off the ballot after the 2020 general election because we missed various retention metrics, but this was largely due to Covid, which prevented the Greens from all-out campaigning and petition-signature gathering in 2020, and the pandemic will remain a dangerous barrier to our petitioning efforts in 2021 to regain ballot status. Your letters to Cooper will pressure him to acknowledge that forcing the Greens to petition in person during Covid would be an undemocratic and dangerous demand in violation of his own Executive Orders.

Become a Member!

The North Carolina Green Party refuses all corporate contributions, so dues-paying members play a vital role ensuring our state and local organizations have the resources needed to build an independent party for people and planet free from the influence of the 1 percent.

Who can Become a Member <[link removed]> of the North Carolina Green Party? North Carolina residents who are registered to vote as “Green” when the NCGP has a ballot line and “Unaffiliated” when it doesn't are eligible to become members of the NCGP after they have affirmed Green Party principles (see our 10 Key Values <[link removed]> and platform <[link removed]>), set their own dues rate using a budget-friendly sliding scale, and initiated payment of those dues. You choose your own dues level on the honor system, based on what you can pay. Note: Residents who are ineligible to vote due to state disenfranchisement (including but not limited to reasons such as age, criminal record, or noncitizen/undocumented status) may also become members. Email the NCGP secretary at [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> if you feel you are ineligible to vote due to state disenfranchisement. All NCGP members, with the exception of noncitizens, shall pay modest annual dues.
