What happened on January 6th was not a lone incident.

It was the chaotic result of years of Donald Trump’s conspiracy theories and lies about the legitimacy of the election in an effort to rile up his extremist supporters and undermine our democracy.

His direct statements at his rally hours before the attack encouraged the insurrectionists to savagely descend on the Capitol, storm the election certification hearing to prevent the certification, and inflict harm on others in the process.

Congressmembers', police officers, and Capitol staff members' lives were put in danger. Five people died and dozens more were brutally injured. It’s why Donald Trump’s actions are unforgivable.

He is a clear and present threat to our country’s national security and he must not be allowed another opportunity to hold public office again.

There is no path to healing our country without holding Donald Trump accountable for his crimes.
