A month after the extremist mob stormed the Capitol, our neighbors to the north have taken a drastic step: Canada has declared the Proud Boys a terrorist group.
According to Canada's public safety minister, “Their violent actions and rhetoric are fueled by white supremacy, anti-Semitism, racism, homophobia, Islamophobia and misogyny.” We couldn't agree more -- but even though the Proud Boys were among the mob at the Capitol on January 6, many Americans have insisted that they were just exercising their right to protest.
