Questions from Last Week:

Question from Brian: When will the New York Attorney General indict Andrew Cuomo for the deaths in New York nursing homes?

Answer: Andrew Cuomo was the one who signed the nursing home order and he is the one who ordered the coverup. He was the only governor in America to implement a deadly combination of policies that forced nursing homes to take covid-positive patients and prohibit them from testing. The AG's report was a good first step, but Republicans are demanding a real investigation that has subpoena power. We are fighting at both the federal and state level to ensure that Cuomo is held accountable, families get justice and New Yorkers get the truth.

Chairman Nick Langworthy discusses the #CuomoCoverUp and Nursing Home Deaths on Talk 100.7 FM WUTQ out of Utica, NY!

Republican Claudia Tenney will be declared the winner of her nail-biting rematch against upstate Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi following a marathon three-month recount. It was the only 2020 congressional race in the country that hadn’t been decided. The recount and reported irregularities has been a black eye on New York’s handling of elections amid the pandemic.

New York’s state legislature is putting up roadblocks for Republican lawmakers trying to investigate the Cuomo administration's handling of the coronavirus pandemic in nursing homes. New York's Democrat supermajority on Monday blocked a motion to subpoena records of the Cuomo administration. The New York Post reported that the "motion was made by Sen. Thomas O’Mara, the ranking Republican on the Investigations Committee panel during a virtual meeting."

The deputy commissioner for public health at the New York State Health Department resigned in late summer. Soon after, the director of its bureau of communicable disease control also stepped down. So did the medical director for epidemiology. Last month, the state epidemiologist said she, too, would be leaving. The drumbeat of high-level departures in the middle of the pandemic came as morale plunged in the Health Department and senior health officials expressed alarm to one another over being sidelined and treated disrespectfully, according to five people with direct experience inside the department.

Facing a brutal report from his own party’s state attorney general that said the state had undercounted nursing home deaths from the virus, Cuomo essentially argued that it’s neither here nor there. “Look, whether a person died in a hospital or died in a nursing home, it’s — the people died,” Cuomo said. “People died. ‘I was in a hospital, I got transferred to a nursing home, and my father died.' ‘My father was in a nursing home, got transferred to a hospital, my father died.’ People died.”
